What's New?

April 3--

Sofie is expecting her first litter. My first pure standards.
She gained 85 grams in 23 days.

August 17, 2007--

I have decided to stop breeding with all my old breeders and will be buying new females (hopefully at the Wisconsin show) to put with my two males that have been shown and done well (Chester-2nd place because "fur was almost to tight"-can that be possible?? I don't know. and Bobby-1st place male)
So now everyone but Chico and Chystal have been separated. The boys Oscar and Pete were weaned and are going to live out the rest of their lives with their Daddy,Yogi, who is teaching them that Mommy is the best person to be around because she cuddles good and gives out lots of kissies and chinnie scratches.
Molly aka "Mama" (my Standard v/c) has not had any seizures in about two months from what I can tell and was able to be re-united with her daughter and foster daughter. They will also live out the rest of their lives together.
And last but not least of the news...I got my last order of ferret nation so now I have four of the double stack cages. It is still cramped. I guess that has something to do with me sharing a room. I can't wait til someday I can give them their own room but we will miss the conversations we have every night while I am trying to sleep. It's like "let's all throw poop at mom! She likes it!!" Poop hits my neck. "come-on guys! I don't like poop. I wanna sleep." Poop hits my leg. "Ok. You guys win. Here is a stick." Spoiled rotten chins.

June 1--

Zoe passed away on March 27th, after a struggle with a uterus infection. i made the choice to have her put to sleep and ease her suffering.
the baby was then put in with the violet's mom and her babies were weaned early. She gained her baby belly back and has kept her name "Bell" or "Bellie"
Bell is paired with baby T (violet female) and they will be life long buddies like all my pairs. Baby S (stanard male) is now paired with Charlie.
At ryerson's i was able to pick up a first place standard Vetter male. He is a sweeite. alittle shy but he is coming out of his shell...
now i need to think of FOUR names.
a standard male that is really chubby
a baby standard male (perferably starting with S but that is not set in stone)
a violet female
and a standard female who is the best mama. i wa thinking Mollie...
if you have any ideas let me know!

March 10, 2007--

Zoe finally had her baby after me thinking she was going to have it soon for two months i gave up and then their it was! a beautiful black velvet girl. wieghing 54 grams.

March 2, 2007--

we had two sets ofTWINS!
a boy and a girl! both times!!
55 grams for both the violets!
49 grams and 48 grams for the standards!

September 10, 2007--

ChaCha died about 3 weeks ago now. Its hard for me to even say that. i have been avoiding doing any of this because she was my baby. my first chin, its just really hard on me still. She had a stroke, right when she was starting to show signs of getting better.
